Donkey Kong Jr later known as Donkey Kong II is the titular main protagonist of Donkey Kong Jr.. He is the son of Donkey Kong I who must save him after Mario locks him in a cage for kidnapping Pauline. He is also the father of Donkey Kong III who is the main protagonist for the rest of the series starting with Donkey Kong Country.
